According to the definition of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), health tourism is the use of services that lead to the improvement or enhancement of a person’s health and morale (using mineral waters, climate, or medical interventions) and lasts for more than 24 hours in a place outside the person’s place of residence.
Among the reasons why people travel for the purpose of treatment are the low costs of medical care, the search for a unique and experienced doctor, the appropriate quality of medical services, safety, and the shorter waiting time for treatment.
